Aurora Primary Care

Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our patients ask what makes Aurora Primary Care different. For us, it comes down to trust and relationships. We take the time to know you and your family, offering preventive care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment plans—supported by modern medical technology. Our goal is simple: to keep you healthy and supported at every stage of life.

Direct Primary Care is a healthcare system where patients pay a monthly fee straight to their doctor and get care whenever they need it. Unlike traditional care, you don’t pay an insurance company monthly and then extra costs for visits, treatments, or medicines.

DPC doctors spend more time with patients by eliminating insurance-related admin tasks like data collection, coding, and pre-authorizations. This means convenient, affordable care with no co-pays, deductibles or unpredictable out-of-pocket expenses.

At Aurora Primary Care your membership includes all your Primary Care visits and in-house procedures and you get the advantage of significantly reduced costs for prescriptions and any out-of-office procedures.

No. We do not participate with or accept insurance. This is how we can deliver better, more personalized care at a lower cost. You pay your doctor directly through a monthly fee. That means no additional charges or co-pays! You should have some type of basic insurance to pay for catastrophic care, surgeries, and other treatment not included in your Aurora Primary Care membership.

Unfortunately, because of government regulations, at this time we can't see patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, IHS and other government provided insurance. If you are on one of these plans but would like to work with us, please give us your information so we can contact you in the future when we are able to work with you.

Unlike traditional care where you pay for each visit, our membership includes unlimited calls, text, and visits at no additional charge. You can talk to your doctor with enough time to address all your concerns and ask follow up questions with no extra cost. We also offer discounted prices on lab tests (and in the future expect special pricing on medications and imaging as well). You will never get a surprise bill.

Most patients benefit from direct primary care because they have a closer relationship with their doctor. DPC doctors have fewer patients and no insurance companies controlling your care. This means you stay with the same doctor even if you change jobs and have more control over your healthcare and no surprises with billing.

We are able to prescribe to your pharmacy like any other provider. In the near future we plan to have a small formulary of common medications that we can dispense right in the office, saving you money and the trip to the pharmacy. We do not offer chronic pain management, nor do we keep controlled substances on the premises.

DPC can be a good solution for you whether you have insurance or not:

  • I don’t have Insurance: Our low cost labs (and in the future medications and imaging) help keep your money in your pocket and keep you out of the urgent care or emergency department. Patients can pair membership with traditional insurance or a health share.
  • I have insurance: Combine the peace of mind of having insurance with same and next day appointments, longer appointments with your doctor, low cost labs and the convenience of skipping urgent care. Our office does not bill insurance.
